| October 22, 2008 Minutes INLAND EMPIRE SENIOR'S GOLF ASSOCIATION MEETING AT THE NORTHERN QUEST CASINO
In attendance for a special board meeting prior to the dinner and annual meeting were President, Ken Degerman, Past President Duane Beamer, Vice Pres., Don Kolb, Sec. Treas. Mel Hamilton, Handicap Chairman, Chuck Sylvas, Tournament Chairman, Lee Spencer, board members, Don Cagle, John Simpson, Bob Woody, Wayne Livengood, Erv Korff and Rich Rust. Board members absent were Stan Miller, Chuck Bullock and Ron Wilson. Also present were new board members Rick Itami and Pete Fortin. President Degerman called the board meeting to order at 5:45 pm. The board reviewed the tournament schedule and introduced the new board members. Vice President, Don Kolb passed out a planned meeting schedule showing a board meeting set for Tuesday December 2, 2008 at the North Branch of the County Library, one block east of Division and Hawthorne at 2:00 PM. A
second planned board meeting is set for March 24, 2009 at the Fairways Golf Course starting at 9:00 AM. The special board meeting was adjourned at 6:12 pm.
Following the 7:00 pm dinner president Degerman opened the meeting at 7:50. Present were the board members from above and 101 members and 76 guests. He then introduced the past presidents in attendance, Sam Rizzuto 98', Mel Hamilton 99', Bill Adams 2000 and 01', Marv Wasser 2004, George Stevens 2006 and Duane Beamer 2007. Ken Degerman also introduced the board and officers mentioned above who were in attendance.
Presentation of minutes: Mel Hamilton reviewed minutes from the August 22, 2008 board meeting held at The Fairways golf course. The minutes showed that following a brief discussion Chuck Bullock moved to charge a penalty of $10.00 for withdrawing from a tournament without any reason. It was seconded by Don Cagle and passed unanimously. The board also approved Mr. Kolb's selection of officers for 2009. Don Kolb will be president with Bob Woody as Vice President, Board members to serve a one year term, Chuck Bullock, Don Cagle, and Mike Kobluk to serve two year terms and Wayne Livengood, Erv Korff and John Simpson and new board members to serve three year terms are Pete Fortin, Rick Itami and Shelton Wade. Following the reading, of the minutes from the board meeting, Les Harris moved to approve the minutes, George Stevens seconded and
the motion passed.
President Degerman then recognized new members in attendance Clif Caldwell, Dick Canfield, Bob Clayton, Jim Everett, Leo Gustafson, Earl Harrison, Steve Hayward, Kevin Koelling, Jim Russell, Elwin Shook, Jim Stephens, Mike Teall and Jim Violette.
Mel Hamilton presented a balance sheet report showing an estimated year end balance of $1947.47. Mr. Hamilton reported that we had 18 tournaments, 3236 participants and paid out $93,339.00. Jack Lawson moved to approve the treasurer's report, Kevin Koelling seconded and the report was accepted unanimously.
Don Kolb told the guest that IESGA have address books/directories for everyone in attendance. These were prepared with contributions from Avista and STCU and help from Wayne Livengood and others.
Plaques were then presented to the flight champions by President Ken Degerman and Tournament Chairman Lee Spencer. Fourth flight net Phillip Thompson (C. Jackson accepted), gross Don Stoddard, third flight net Roy Bowden, gross Leo Gustafson, second flight net Rufus Hoefer, gross Bob Murphey (absent), and First flight net Erv Korff, gross Mike McNeilly (accepted by Jerry Hopkins). It was mentioned that flight champions receive free dues for the following year. A special plaque of appreciation was presented to Ken Degerman for his service to IESGA as president.
Door prizes were then awarded by drawing tickets from the respective boxes.
